Happy Holidays and prosperous 2018 to you and your business! This time of year always brings about lots of self-reflection; reflecting on the year past and looking forward to the next one. 2017 has been a year of growth in many areas for us as a company. Below we’ve highlighted a few of these areas of growth, as they fit within our 4 core values – Evolve, Team, Integrity, and Ownership.

Evolve

As an IT company, we’re continuously evolving. As technology changes, we’re constantly improving ourselves and what we’re able to provide our clients – streamlining processes as well as expanding our business offerings. In 2017 we focused a lot of energy on new and innovative processes to better serve our customers. SNS’ Business Intelligence Division saw massive growth this year. We’re proud to provide IT process and strategy offerings along with cyber-security solutions.

Team

Culture is a big part of our success at SNS. While continuing to restructure our teams to better serve our customers, 2017 has brought about growth in our team’s culture. Outside of work, our Social Committee planned several amazing experiences. As a President, it’s wonderful to see your team’s culture blossoming the way ours has over the year. Along with the fun things, our team has also fully embraced customer service. Customer satisfaction ratings were at an all-time high this year – something we’re really proud of as a company. If you haven’t had a chance to read about how we use SmileBack to measure our success and openly share these results on our website, I’d encourage you to do so. Our team works endlessly to provide superior customer service, and this has become part of our culture while speaking to our integrity as a company.

Integrity

It has always been my personal belief that part of being a good corporate citizen is giving back. SNS’ community involvement was a focus of ours in 2017. We’re pleased to have had the opportunity to work with and volunteer at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northern Alberta, the Edmonton Foodbank and the Bissell Centre among other local organizations. Our first ever SNS - Merit -Tantus Charity Golf Tournament took place in September of this year. It was great to see many of you there, helping us to support RMHNA. We also see part of good corporate citizenry as sharing your knowledge with the community. This is particularly true as an IT business. This year we were able to share our expertise in a variety of ways including a CTV News WannaCry Ransomware piece and at the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties (AAMDC) Conference. As we look to continue our knowledge sharing in 2018, we’re already planning some great client education sessions.

Ownership

We have always been employee-owned and will continue to be. This year, we focused on finalizing the structure of our employee-share opportunity program.  It is our feeling that offering everyone a part of ownership has and will continue to be our differentiator. We are very excited to see our ESOP continue to flourish in the new year. Thanks for a wonderful 2017 and we look forward to your continuing to build our relationship with you in the year ahead!
